The recent appointment has received the royal seal of approval from The King, following recommendations from the former Prime Minister.
New Suffragan Bishop of Warwick Announced
The King has officially sanctioned the appointment of the Reverend Canon Dr Timothy Michael Lomax, BEd Hons, DipTh, MA, DMin, as the new Suffragan Bishop of Warwick. This position, within the Diocese of Coventry, has become available following the retirement of the Right Reverend John Stroyan, BA, MTheol, BA.
Dr Lomax’s educational journey began at Nottingham University, followed by studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. He further honed his skills for ministry at Ridley Hall, Cambridge. He commenced his clerical career serving at St Philip Penn Fields in Wolverhampton, part of the Diocese of Lichfield, where he completed his title. He was ordained as a priest in 2008.
Career Path and Responsibilities
In 2010, Dr Lomax took on the role of Vicar at Christ Church, Bayston Hill in Shrewsbury, where he made significant contributions to the local community. His career progressed, and from 2016, he was appointed as Director of Mission in the Diocese of St Albans. In 2020, he ascended to his current position as Director of Mission and Ministry, also serving as Residentiary Canon at St Albans Cathedral.
Outside of his professional commitments, Tim Lomax is a family man, married to Kate, and they are proud parents to three adult children.
