NASA Astronaut Christina Koch to Connect with NFL Fans in Philadelphia

NASA astronaut Christina Koch will represent the agency during the Philadelphia Eagles versus Los Angeles Rams game on Sunday, 4th October, as part of NASA’s ongoing Inspiration Tour. This event will showcase America’s capabilities in space exploration and aeronautics innovation.

A fervent supporter of Philadelphia sports, Koch is both an engineer and an explorer, having spent a remarkable 338 days in space over two missions. Earlier this year, she served as a mission specialist on Artemis II, which saw her launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard the Orion spacecraft, propelled by the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. This mission marked a significant milestone, as the crew completed a historic lunar flyby, signifying humanity’s return to the Moon’s vicinity for the first time in over five decades.

Engagement Opportunities for Fans

Prior to the game, NASA team members will be engaging with fans at the agency’s Experience Zone, set up outside the stadium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into NASA’s Artemis program and its mission to return to the Moon. The Experience Zone will feature interactive games, a selfie station, and a large inflatable NASA logo, providing a fun and informative environment for all ages.

NASA’s Inspiration Tour aims to bridge connections between academic, industry, and public sector stakeholders, fostering collaboration that enhances America’s leadership in space exploration. By hosting events like this, NASA seeks to engage the public and highlight the significant advances being made in aeronautics and space technology.

Upcoming MAX POWER Exposition

The Inspiration Tour will culminate in an exciting public exposition named MAX POWER, scheduled for Saturday, 7th November, and Sunday, 8th November, at and around NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This event will commemorate America’s historic 250th anniversary and will feature a showcase of next-generation aircraft, spacecraft, autonomous vehicles, and groundbreaking technologies poised to shape the future of transport in both air and space.
