The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is embarking on its recruitment campaign for the 2026/27 period, seeking new members to join its Scientific Advisory Committees (SACs) and Science Council. This initiative aims to attract individuals from a diverse array of backgrounds and professional disciplines, reflecting the FSA’s commitment to fostering a rich variety of expertise and perspectives within its committees.

The current recruitment drive encompasses several key roles, specifically:

• 2 chair positions
• 19 full and/or associate member positions
• 2 lay member positions

The SACs and Science Council are instrumental in providing independent scientific advice, which underpins evidence-based decision-making regarding food safety and standards. Their contributions are vital in safeguarding public health and ensuring consumer interests are protected.
