A person is currently in hospital in an unspecified condition following a stabbing incident in Notting Hill during the early hours of this morning, 10th July. Emergency services were alerted to the situation on Portobello Road at approximately 2am, where they discovered the victim.
Paramedics, along with a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting the individual to a major trauma centre. The Metropolitan Police have yet to confirm the condition of the victim.
Investigation Underway at the Scene
In the aftermath of the incident, red-and-white tape has been placed at the junction of Portobello Road and Cambridge Gardens, extending towards Oxford Gardens, as well as along the pedestrian walkway on Acklam Road. Due to ongoing police activity, a segment of Portobello Road Market will remain closed until further notice, as announced by Kensington and Chelsea Council.
A spokesperson for the Council stated, “Due to police activity following incidents on Portobello Road overnight, opening the markets and cleaning up the streets nearby will be delayed. Our staff are waiting and ready to open things up as soon as possible.”
