Police Seize London Supercar Convoy on M11 for Reckless Speeding and Sudden Braking

In a decisive response to reports of hazardous and anti-social driving on the M11, police have seized 13 high-performance supercars. The vehicles, which included prestigious brands such as Lamborghinis, Audi R8s, a Ferrari, and a Porsche, were spotted entering the motorway from North East London on Tuesday afternoon, around 4:20 PM.

As the convoy travelled northbound, Essex Police’s control room was inundated with multiple calls from concerned members of the public. Witnesses reported alarming behaviour, describing drivers accelerating to “excessive speeds” before suddenly decelerating, with some engaging in heavy braking and weaving through traffic. Reports indicated that the drivers were using the hard shoulder to overtake other vehicles, significantly disrupting the usual flow of traffic.

Police Response and Vehicle Seizure

Officers swiftly located the convoy at a service station at Junction 8, near Stansted Airport. In total, 13 warnings for anti-social driving were issued, and all 13 vehicles were subsequently seized. A spokesperson for Essex Police stated, “A number of offences have been identified for investigation, and further enquiries are ongoing.”

Sergeant Will Willsher commented on the incident, emphasising the serious implications of such behaviour. “The behaviour reported to us was not only anti-social but potentially placed other road users at serious risk, especially on a busy motorway during peak travel times,” he remarked. “The Roads Policing Unit acted quickly to locate the cars and take appropriate enforcement action. Speed limits are there to keep everyone safe, and the law applies equally to all road users.”

Essex Police are urging anyone who witnessed these vehicles on the M11 around the time of the incident, or who may have dash cam footage, to come forward.
