Chevening Scholarships 2027 28: Apply Now for UK Government Funding Opportunities

Prospective candidates are invited to submit their applications through the Chevening website by 6 October 2026. Citizens of Lebanon, as well as Palestinians residing in Lebanon, are eligible to apply under the Lebanon scheme across all subject areas.

Opportunities for Global Leadership Development

The Chevening programme offers fully funded master’s degrees at prestigious UK universities, aimed at individuals eager to become part of a global network of future leaders. Participants will benefit from world-class knowledge, connections within the UK, and shared values, all while addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development within their communities and beyond.

Additionally, Lebanon is a participant in the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Chevening Fellowship. This fellowship provides mid-career academics and professionals the unique opportunity to engage in five months of independent research at the University of Oxford. The focus is on Islam, Muslim societies, and their global roles. Applications for this fellowship will be accepted from 11 August until the closing date of 6 October 2026.

Local Partnerships Enhancing Scholarship Opportunities

In Lebanon, the scholarship scheme boasts two significant local partnerships. For the sixth consecutive year, the Chevening-Siren Associates Scholarship will provide one scholarship to a Lebanese national (or a Palestinian national who is a resident in Lebanon) to pursue a master’s degree in Governance, International Development, Human Rights, or Public Financial Management/Administration at one of the top 20 UK universities.

Furthermore, for the third consecutive year, the Chevening-Raffy Manoukian Scholarship will offer up to three scholarships for Lebanese (or Palestinian nationals residing in Lebanon) to pursue master’s degrees in Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and other STEM disciplines at one of the UK’s top 10 universities.

Supporting Women’s Education Through Tailored Scholarships

The Chevening-Rebecca Dykes Scholarship, initiated by the British Embassy in Beirut since 2017, is awarded annually to one female Chevening scholar. This scholarship supports a master’s degree in areas such as Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Development and Human Rights, as well as Refugee and Migration Studies or related fields. The British Embassy selects the recipient from among the successful Chevening applicants each year.
