Beloved Australian Dessert Shop Set to Launch First UK Location in West London

A well-known Australian frozen yoghurt brand is preparing to make its debut in Europe this summer with the opening of a new location in London. Yo-Chi, which has garnered popularity since its inception in Melbourne in 2012, has expanded significantly from its original four sites in Australia to over 75 locations across Australia and Singapore. This August, the company will enhance its portfolio with a new establishment in West London.

Affectionately dubbed ‘Fro-Yo’ by Australians, frozen yoghurt has become a beloved treat in the country, and its arrival in London comes at a time when an increasing number of Australians have made the city their home in recent years. The new venue in Notting Hill will span over 2,000 square feet across two levels, allowing for seating arrangements that can accommodate more than 120 guests.

Self-Serve Delight with Customisation

The self-serve frozen yoghurt concept allows customers to personalise their desserts with a diverse selection of toppings, ranging from fresh fruit to Oreos, with pricing based on the weight of the chosen dessert. The new establishment will be situated next to Hobson House, where branding has been prominently displayed on the site that previously housed Le Pain Quotidien on Notting Hill Gate Road.

In anticipation of the launch, Yo-Chi has begun the recruitment process, with job postings appearing on platforms such as Glassdoor. Modern Venue with Unique Features

The interior of the venue is designed with a modern aesthetic, featuring intricate light fixtures and paneling that create a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the establishment will include an in-store DJ booth for events, complemented by a signature strawberry disco ball to enhance the experience.

For those aged 16-17, the starting pay is set between £10 and £11 per hour, while individuals aged 18-20 will earn between £12 and £13. For employees aged 21 and over, salaries will commence from £13.50 to £14. The company has indicated that successful applicants may be eligible to begin their training programme as early as August 17. Although an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, indications suggest that the end of August is a likely timeframe.

There are also unconfirmed reports suggesting that Yo-Chi may be planning to open two additional locations in Clapham and Islington in the near future.
