Aldi to Launch Exciting New Supermarket in Central London Soon

Aldi is set to launch a new store on one of Central London’s busiest thoroughfares next month, as announced by company executives. The supermarket will officially open its doors on Edgware Road at 8am on Thursday, 6th August, with the assistance of Olympic rower Rory Gibbs. The gold medallist will perform the ceremonial ribbon cutting and will distribute complimentary bags of fruit and vegetables to the first 30 customers in line.

Inside the new store, shoppers can expect a wide selection of everyday groceries, along with items from the popular ‘Specially Selected’ range. There will also be a dedicated food-to-go section, as well as a variety of beers, wines, and spirits available for purchase. Store manager Bogdan Maricas expressed enthusiasm for the opening, stating, “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Edgware Road. It’s set to be a special day, and having Olympic hero Rory Gibbs join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Strategically Located in Central London

The new Aldi branch is strategically situated between Paddington Station and Marble Arch, making it easily accessible and less than a ten-minute walk from Hyde Park. This location has created 23 new jobs and will operate seven days a week. The planned hours of operation are from 8am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

In addition to this opening, Aldi has previously revealed its ambitious plans to establish 16 new sites across the UK in the coming months. London residents can look forward to additional stores in Orpington and Hoxton, alongside further openings in Watford and Ashford, Kent. This expansion initiative is part of Aldi’s long-term goal to increase its presence to 1,500 stores across the UK.

Our £370 million investment in new stores this year will help us bring Aldi’s unbeatable value to even more communities, supporting local economies through our industry-leading pay for colleagues.”
