Orama Studios is a boutique Pilates studio in the heart of Battersea offering Reformer and Mat Pilates classes to newcomers and seasoned regulars alike. Founded by two women who believe in the power of community, it was created as a calm, welcoming space to move with intention, slow down and reconnect.
A boutique studio in Battersea
Orama Studios is a Reformer and Mat Pilates studio on Havelock Terrace, in Nine Elms, Battersea. It is built on the belief that movement is about more than the physical, and it was designed as a space to feel good, slow down and reconnect with oneself. For people who live or work around Battersea or Nine Elms, it is a local option for exploring both Reformer and Mat Pilates.
Its two founders created it as a place where people feel welcome from their very first class. Whether someone is new to Pilates or a seasoned regular, Orama offers expert instruction, a welcoming environment and a community that moves with its members. The studio is a warm and friendly space where everyone is welcome, with a relaxed environment in which people can feel comfortable, supported and completely themselves.
How Orama began
Orama started with just a thought and the wish to start a business. Discovering reformer Pilates and attending a few sessions made the path clear almost instantly, and from there everything fell into place quickly.

The idea was to create a space that felt different from a traditional gym: somewhere calm and welcoming, where the body is worked without the feeling of simply lifting heavy weights or going through the motions. The aim was a place people leave feeling stronger, refreshed and more connected, not only to themselves but to the people around them.
At the heart of Orama is the belief that movement can bring people together. Community, connection and confidence sum up the project: building a community, creating genuine friendships and empowering both women and men, in a welcoming space where everyone feels seen, supported and inspired, whatever their age, ability or fitness journey. Orama is more than a Pilates studio: it is a space to move, connect, grow and feel good, and, as it continues to grow and evolve, this is only the beginning.
The Orama method
The Orama method is built on moving with intention: focused movement for strength, control, mobility and mindful practice. Pilates works the entire body, using controlled movements and resistance to challenge the muscles without relying on traditional heavy lifting, with a strong core at the heart of the practice. Every movement asks for attention to alignment, posture and control, while breathing and concentration are an important part of the work, engaging both body and mind. Exercises can be adapted to different abilities and fitness levels, for those completely new to Pilates and for people who have been practising for years.
Reformer Pilates
Reformer Pilates at Orama is a dynamic, full-body workout that combines controlled movement with resistance, working on strength, stability, flexibility and endurance. The Reformer’s springs, moving carriage and straps create adjustable resistance, so each movement can be set to challenge the body or to support it in different ways. The focus is on precision, control and alignment, working deeper into the muscles while developing a stronger connection with the body.
The classes are aimed at people who want to build strength, work on their mobility or simply move with more confidence. Reformer Pilates is open to beginners too: the instructor walks the class through how the equipment works and guides it throughout.

Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates, the foundation of movement, is a mindful, full-body practice that uses body weight and controlled movements to work on strength, stability and flexibility. It places a strong focus on the core, posture, alignment and breath, and every movement is designed with intention. Without the need for heavy equipment, Mat classes are a chance to slow down, reconnect with the body and develop strength from within, in a balance of strength, control and flow.
A first class at Orama
Classes at Orama are suitable for beginners as well as those with previous Pilates experience, and there is no need to be extremely fit to get started. Instructors guide everyone through the movements and help each person work at a level that feels right for them. All classes run for 50 minutes, and friends can book together and make their Pilates session part of their social routine.
For a first visit, the advice is to arrive around 10 to 15 minutes early to check in, get comfortable and meet the instructor, as late entry may not be permitted once a class has started. Comfortable, fitted activewear that allows free movement is recommended, and grip socks are required for Reformer classes for safety and hygiene, while the studio provides the Pilates equipment needed. Anyone with injuries or physical limitations should let their instructor know before class. In a first session, the emphasis is on learning the movements, following the instructor’s guidance on positioning, technique and equipment, working at a comfortable pace and putting control and technique ahead of trying to do everything at once.

Timetable, community and studio hire
The studio’s timetable runs seven days a week, from early morning until 8.30pm on weekdays, with shorter hours at weekends. Live class times, availability and bookings are on the Orama schedule in Momence, where clients select their preferred class and complete the booking.
The instructor team at Orama is there for more than just the workout: to support, encourage and connect with clients, helping to create a welcoming community where everyone feels part of the studio. Orama is a calm, beautifully curated space where mindful movement meets modern luxury, alongside a genuine sense of community.
The studio also accepts private event bookings, and it is available for content creation, filming, television productions and approved private events, with hire subject to availability and approval; last-minute bookings may also be considered.
With Reformer and Mat classes open to beginners and regulars, a team focused on community and a studio in Nine Elms, Orama Studios brings its idea of moving with intention to Battersea.
