Five-Year-Old Girl in Critical Condition Following Devastating Three-Car Collision

A five-year-old girl is currently fighting for her life in hospital following a devastating multi-vehicle collision that resulted in serious injuries to five individuals. The incident occurred on Sunday evening on the A4067, close to Craig-y-Nos, north of Ystradgynlais, at approximately 5:50 pm on 5th July.

The young girl was among those critically injured and was airlifted to hospital, where she is now reported to be in a stable condition. In connection with the incident, two men have been taken into custody as Dyfed-Powys Police conduct their investigation.

Details of the Collision

A spokesperson for the police stated, “We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision that occurred on the A4067, near Craig-y-Nos, at around 5:50 pm on Sunday, July 5.” The crash involved a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a grey Vauxhall Grandland.

As a result of the collision, five people sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment. This group included the five-year-old girl, who was airlifted due to injuries that are believed to be life-threatening, though her current condition is stable.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Incident

The driver of the green Ford Fiesta, a 39-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and child neglect. Additionally, a yellow Ford Fiesta was later identified as being involved in the incident. The driver of this vehicle, a 65-year-old man, is also under arrest on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both individuals remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Call for Witnesses

Police are urging anyone who may possess information that could assist in their investigation to come forward. This includes individuals who were travelling along the road at the time of the incident and may have dashcam footage.
