The Prime Minister engaged in a conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, reflecting on the robust partnership between the United Kingdom and India. This alliance, he emphasised, has had a profound impact on communities throughout the UK.

Strengthening the UK-India Relationship

During their discussion, the Prime Minister articulated his aspirations to further bolster the UK-India relationship. He highlighted the UK-India Vision 2035 framework, which aims to enhance collaboration across various sectors, as well as the importance of fostering strong connections between people in both nations.

Expressing his admiration for the contributions of Indian communities to British society, the Prime Minister acknowledged the historical ties shared by the leaders’ respective home cities—Manchester and Ahmedabad, the latter often referred to as the “Manchester of India” by Prime Minister Modi.
