Scheduled to take place from Saturday, September 12, to Sunday, September 20, this event will see an impressive 644 venues welcoming visitors to discover spaces typically closed to the public. Attendees can expect a rich selection of architectural treasures scattered throughout the capital.
A Diverse Range of Venues to Explore
Among the many notable establishments opening their doors are the iconic City Hall, the historic Royal Courts of Justice, and the Royal Society of Musicians. Other highlights include the Chelsea Physic Garden, the London Guildhall, and Lincoln’s Inn, alongside attractions such as The Middle Temple and Inner Temple Gardens. Cultural institutions like the English National Ballet, Hackney Empire, John Keats’ House, and Charlton House will also participate, offering a blend of stately homes, museums, and ancient churches.
Participation in the Open House Festival is complimentary, although individuals are encouraged to make a suggested donation of £7 to assist in the upkeep of these significant sites. Those wishing to explore specific areas of the city can utilise a free interactive map available online. Starting from August 19, registrants will have the opportunity to book visits and curate their own personalised itineraries for the festival.
Exclusive Tours and Special Access
While the majority of venues will be accessible to registrants, a couple of highlights require additional steps for entry. A special ballot will open on Wednesday, July 29, for a guided tour of the renowned Number 10 Downing Street. Additionally, numerous guided tours to the top of the BT Tower will be offered during the weekend of September 19 and 20, with bookings available from the same date.
Beyond the chance to explore interiors, visitors can take advantage of hundreds of guided tours scheduled throughout both weekends, showcasing a variety of points of interest across the city.
