FCDO Calls Iranian Chargé d’Affaires to Discuss Qods Force’s Involvement in Proxy Attacks

A spokesperson from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has announced that the Chargé d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Kingdom, Mr Ali Nasimfar, was summoned today following instructions from the Foreign Secretary. This action was taken in light of the involvement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qods Force (IRGC-QF) in orchestrating a series of attacks across Europe, attributed to the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right (IMCR) during the period from March to May.

The spokesperson emphasised that the activities of the IRGC pose a significant threat to the safety and security of the UK and its allies. Despite multiple warnings, the Iranian intelligence services have continued their hostile actions, seemingly seeking to escalate their malign behaviour, which has been deemed entirely unacceptable.

This diplomatic summoning follows recent measures implemented by the UK government aimed at holding the Iranian regime accountable. These actions include revealing Iran’s support for proxy groups and criminal networks both overseas and within the UK. The spokesperson reiterated the government’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to safeguard the British public.

It was made clear that threats backed by foreign states will not be tolerated. The steps taken this week, which included designating the IRGC under new state threats legislation, are part of a broader strategy to expose and disrupt the activities of those acting on behalf of the Iranian regime.
