The Prime Minister convened with the First Minister of Scotland in Glasgow following a session of the National Economic Council on Friday, 30 October.
Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes of the meeting, describing it as highly constructive. They noted that it served as an important step in exploring how each administration could work together to foster regional empowerment, drive reindustrialisation, and promote sustainable growth across all areas.
They announced the initiation of a policy sprint, spearheaded by No10 North, which will involve officials from both governments collaborating to advance this agenda.
In addition to this collaborative effort, the Prime Minister indicated that the UK Government would undertake a review and respond to various issues highlighted by the First Minister.
However, it was emphasised that discussions surrounding a second independence referendum in Scotland remain off the table, a position the Prime Minister has consistently reiterated.
