In a significant announcement, the Chancellor confirmed plans for the UK to enhance international cooperation through the establishment of the AI Economics Institute, aimed at collaborating with G7 countries. • Driving Compute Efficiency: In partnership with the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade and ARIA’s Scaling Inference Lab, this challenge aims to support technologies that enhance the efficiency of AI computing infrastructure, thereby expanding the UK’s public AI compute capacity.
• Integrating AI in Defence: Working with the Ministry of Defence, this challenge focuses on developing solutions that securely connect data across defence systems, bolstering operational effectiveness and national security.
• Agent Security and Resilience Testing: In collaboration with the National Cyber Security Centre, this initiative seeks to create technologies that help organisations manage the risks associated with advanced AI agents, facilitating the safe adoption of AI across the economy.

The competitions are specifically aimed at technologies that have progressed beyond initial research and are poised for real-world testing.
