For those eager to indulge in some of London’s most delectable offerings, a willingness to queue is essential. The capital boasts an abundance of culinary hotspots, many of which have gained popularity through social media buzz, compelling food enthusiasts to experience them firsthand. However, with a surge in popularity often comes a surge in customers, necessitating strategic timing to secure a taste of their renowned delicacies.
The Viral Caesar Salad Wrap Experience
Recently, a food enthusiast provided her audience with an insightful look into the experience of visiting a trendy food outlet. Angelina, known for her reviews of new and viral culinary trends, shared a TikTok video chronicling her visit to CZER, a hidden gem situated within the Mayfair Food Fayre convenience store in London. This establishment has gained fame for its Caesar salad wraps, which have been making waves across the internet.
Inspired by the deli-style chopped salads of Los Angeles and New York, CZER allows patrons to customise their wraps by selecting a bag of crisps from the store’s shelves, which can be crushed into the wrap for an added crunch. Angelina arrived at the venue at 10:30 am on a Sunday, even though the shop was not scheduled to open until 11 am. Expecting to be the first in line, she was taken aback to find a small queue already forming outside the establishment.
In her video, she expressed her excitement, saying, “I’ve been seeing this Caesar wrap everywhere on my social media. It looks so chunky and beautiful; we need to get it. The time is currently 10:30 am on a Sunday, and it opens at 11. So surely, there’s not going to be a lot of people.” Although she had arrived early, she did not begin timing her wait until approximately 10:55 am, at which point she started her countdown to receiving her meal.
Customer Care During the Wait
Despite the lengthy queue, the staff ensured that customers felt valued, as Angelina highlighted in her video. Employees made their way down the line, offering Dubai chocolate and energy drinks to those waiting, which certainly helped to uplift spirits during the wait. Angelina noted, “I feel like if you ever want a chance to get one of these wraps, you actually have to come in early. Apparently, they also only give out 250 a day. On a plus note, though, we were actually very well looked after.”
After approximately an hour of waiting, Angelina finally reached the front of the queue and entered the shop. She captured the moment she selected a packet of salt and vinegar McCoy’s crisps to complement her wrap, as well as footage of the staff member expertly assembling her generously filled wrap. The total cost for her meal was £14.25, and it took her one hour and ten minutes from the moment she started queuing to leaving the shop with her food in hand.
A Taste Test Worth the Wait
In a follow-up video, Angelina taste-tested the much-anticipated wrap, declaring it “so good” and unlike anything she had previously experienced. She elaborated, “There’s the perfect amount of sauce in there. It’s cheesy, but not too cheesy. It’s so refreshing as well. I actually can’t fault it. Well, the only thing I can fault is that I queued for an hour for it. But was it worth it? I feel like yeah. A solid 9.2 out of 10.”
The response from viewers was mixed; while some praised the wrap as “delicious” and felt it justified the time and expense, others were less enthusiastic about waiting an hour for any dish. One commenter remarked, “To be fair, that wrap looks good and I’m not even a massive fan of Caesar salad.” Another mused, “I might have to travel to London just for this.” Conversely, a third individual stated, “Absolutely no way I’d wait one hour in line.”
