Soap Star Sentenced to Nine Years for Rape and Domestic Abuse Conviction

A former actor known for his role in a popular soap has been sentenced to prison following convictions for multiple sexual offences. Iain Robertson, aged 45, who portrayed Stevie O’Hara in the BBC’s Scottish soap opera River City, was found guilty of five charges, including domestic abuse, committed against three women between 2004 and 2019.

In a ruling delivered at Edinburgh High Court, it was revealed that Robertson raped one of the victims during the period from 2018 to 2019 and also subjected her to sexual assault on another occasion. The court proceedings culminated in a sentence of nine years in prison, along with a further three years of supervised release following his incarceration.
