Firefighters Combat School Blaze in West Drayton

Emergency services were deployed to a West London primary school following a significant fire incident. The blaze erupted on the rooftop of Rabbsfarm Primary School, situated in West Drayton, prompting a swift response from the London Fire Brigade.

Fire Brigade’s Rapid Response

Firefighters received the initial alert at 12:15 PM on Thursday, 16 July, regarding the incident on Gordon Road. In total, eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters were mobilised to combat the flames, which were reported to be affecting both the roof structure and a number of solar panels on the premises. As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Crews from Hayes, Hillingdon, Feltham, and nearby stations responded to the emergency call, which came in as part of an influx of 18 reports received at the same time. The London Fire Brigade has advised local residents and passers-by to steer clear of the area to allow emergency services to manage the situation effectively.

Medical Assistance Provided on Site

In addition to the firefighting efforts, the London Ambulance Service also responded to the scene. A spokesperson confirmed that their team was alerted at 12:30 PM, shortly after the fire was reported. They dispatched several resources, including ambulance crews, paramedics in rapid response vehicles, and an incident response officer.

Medical teams assessed three individuals at the location, with one person requiring further treatment and being transported to a local hospital. The incident underscores the importance of swift action from both fire and medical services in ensuring the safety and well-being of those involved.
