Delays on London Underground and TfL Services Following Trackside Fire Incident

Delays on London Underground and TfL Services Following Trackside Fire Incident

This morning, several London Underground lines experienced significant delays, impacting commuters across the city on Saturday, July 11. The affected lines include the Elizabeth, Mildmay, Metropolitan, Jubilee, Piccadilly, Windrush, District, and Circle lines, each facing disruptions for various reasons, including train cancellations and signalling failures. It is worth noting that some service interruptions were pre-planned, and a comprehensive list of these can be accessed online.

Specific Line Updates

The Elizabeth line is currently experiencing minor delays between Whitechapel and Shenfield, attributed to a lineside fire at Stratford that occurred on Friday. Meanwhile, the Mildmay line has been severely disrupted, with no service operating between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction. The rest of the line is also facing delays due to the same incident at Stratford.

On the Metropolitan line, there is a complete suspension of services this weekend between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge. Similarly, the Piccadilly line is not running between Hammersmith and Uxbridge. For those needing to travel on these routes, a replacement bus service, ML1, has been established. This service operates between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge, covering key stops such as West Harrow, Rayners Lane, and Hillingdon, which allows for connections to the Central line and Chiltern Railways.

Ongoing Disruptions

Minor delays have also been reported on the Jubilee line as a result of train cancellations. On the Piccadilly line, there will be no service from 12:45 am on Saturday and throughout Sunday, July 12, affecting travel between Hammersmith and all terminals at Heathrow, as well as Uxbridge. Passengers are advised to use the Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line for transfers between Heathrow terminals, with replacement bus services also in operation.

Furthermore, the Windrush line is not running between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction due to a points failure at Clapham Junction. The District line is similarly affected, with no service between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway over the weekend. Replacement bus services are available, including Service PL3, which runs between Hammersmith and Osterley, and Service PL4, which connects various stations, including Gunnersbury and Sudbury Town.

Additional Information

Lastly, the Circle line is facing minor delays, again due to train cancellations.
